The Office of International Programs assists students and faculty to broaden their experience of the world outside the United States, a major priority for Geneseo as it seeks to "develop socially responsible citizens with skills and values important to the pursuit of an enriched life and success in the world." (Geneseo Mission Statement)
Offices reporting to the Assistant Provost for International Affairs include the Office of Study Abroad Programs, The Office of Dual-Diploma Degree Programs, and the Office of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
International opportunities for Geneseo students include:
- taking a single course overseas
- studying at an international university for up to one year
- joining a dual-diploma degree program, international internships, international service learning
- international volunteering
- international research opportunities
- faculty exchanges with our partner institutions
- assistance in developing overseas programming
- professional development opportunities through international seminars and other programs
Geneseo programs are noteworthy for the eminence of our overseas university partners, the safety of their environments, and for the academic excellence of our short programs. An increasing number of exchange students and faculty come to Geneseo from around the world each year. Through all these means Geneseo is right at the heart of the world, its students have the ability to experience other cultures by immersion in them, by exposure to individuals from them and from a faculty itself constantly learning and sharing its international expertise-essential preparation for the world ahead!
